El Paso, TX 79924  (915) 821-5900  By Delia C from El Paso, TX Posted May 14, 2010 My son was sick early one morning and I decided to bring him into Dr.Akin's office, his regular pediatrician. I was told by his secretary that the Dr had seen enough patients today and was leaving. This was at 11:30 in the morning on a Thursday. I was told to come back tomorrow even though my son was running a fever and throwing up. I decided to never come back and asked for my son's shot records, I was told that they would charge me for a copy and could come pick them up the next afternoon. The new doctor I had chosen explained to me that Dr.Akin was thrown out of Medical school in Africa and often has serious medical issues with asthmatic children due to his incompetency. How can a doctor's office refuse to see a sick child and would the doctor have shown up if it were a real emergency? Avoid this place at all costs, there are other family practices in Northeast!
